Happy readers!

A thrilling action adventure. I couldn’t put it down! I could really imagine I was there in the Amazon – especially the canoeing. We’d just come back from a canoeing holiday and when I read the book, it was just like I was back there again!

Action-adventure is not my usual genre but I really enjoyed this book. It’s a ‘show’ not ‘tell’ book, which makes you feel like you’re right in the story, and the facts in the glossary of terms are really interesting. I’m doing it for my school book review.

Enthralling characters, an inspiring journey, a captivating read. My son can’t wait to read the next book! We read it together and there were lots of great messages. We loved the connection with the animals and the facts in the back! Highly recommend it!

This book is about friendships, wildlife, being outdoors and having adventures – all things I really love. I couldn’t put it down. The book has inspired me to hopefully travel to the Amazon one day to explore the river and forest and see some of the animals – especially the sloth.

I really enjoyed this tense action-packed story. I loved the part where Pacho, Samik and Anahí race up the river trying to catch up to the men and consider turning back many times before they run out of food or get too tired. But they found the men and joined them on their journey. Overall this is a great read for girls and boys who enjoy adventure stories.

Boy of the Amazon is a captivating, suspenseful novel that was hard to put down! I loved following Samik through his adventures in the Amazon Rainforest.
